The Feeding Those in Need Food Program is a year-round, free food distribution program for the homeless and children in need. We intend to provide support to these individuals by sharing with them food as well as hope. This program services those in need once a month, by providing them with hot meals, snacks, and bottles of water. All of our food is cooked, prepared, and served by our volunteer staff members. Food is distributed in local parks, homeless shelters, and community centers.
"Home to the Rescue" is a year-round, powerful community-driven initiative that extends a helping hand to those in need. The goal of this program is to provide a new sense of hope and belonging to aged-out foster youth, homeless individuals, and women and children; providing new shelter and housing opportunities until they can get back on their feet for work and provide for themselves.
Our Better Way Youth & Violence Program is a year-round program designed to help youth ages (12-18) cope with anger and conflict, by teaching them how to make positive choices that do not lead to violence. This program aims to train youth on conflict resolution skills and how to handle and report bullying. They also learn verbal language, body language, and the importance of walking away from situations that can lead to physical contact or verbal disputes.
Our Education Initiative Program is designed to provide year-round educational enrichment, academic support, and resources to youth in the community. This is achieved by offering youth in the local community who are struggling academically free summer and after-school tutoring sessions. Tutoring sessions focus on major subject areas required in school: Math, English, Science, and Social Studies. Students will be able to apply for these sessions as needed. The program is also designed to help provide College Readiness. This program is open to all children and youth ages 6-18!
Our Healing the Heroes Program is designed to provide a place of rest, safety, and recovery for weary women and children who have been victims of traumatic physical abuse and who need emotional, spiritual, and physical recovery. Such supports include one-on-one counseling services, women's self-esteem empowerment workshops, children's education, and emotional assistance programming, as well as temporary housing for those with dangerous living situations. This program provides year-round empowerment and self-recovery workshops while helping provide temporary living to as many cases as space allows in a given recovery period.
Our Another Chance Ex-Offender Job Training Program is designed to provide youth and adult ex-offenders with the literacy and job-readiness skills needed to obtain employment and become productive citizens in society after release. Our main goal is to save as many lives as possible by keeping men and women off the street and away from criminal activity. We desire to decrease the recidivism rates in urban communities by offering ex-offenders more job opportunities, educational opportunities, and constructive activities year-round. We believe we can accomplish this in three ways: Educational development, Professional development, and Constructive Activities.
